Virginia E. Kerska age 91 of Bushnell, IL passed away at 11:04 P.M. Saturday June 2, 2012 at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, IL. Virginia was born on March 1, 1921 in Beardstown, IL to Paul and Edna Howard Nagel. She married Francis E. Kerska on February 6, 1947 in Springfield, IL and he preceded her in death on March 7, 1997. She is survived by 3 Daughters – Mary (Randy) Killip of Blandinsville, IL, Jenny (Paul) Vancil of Prairie City, IL, and Tina (Bob) Leiner of Chillicothe, IL, and 5 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Virginia and her husband farmed in rural Bushnell for 20 years then moved to Bushnell and purchased Kerska Oil Co. and ran that business for 20 years. She was a member of the Bushnell United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for over 50 years. Virginia also worked as a volunteer in the McDonough District Hospital Gift Shop, she was a member of the Red Hat Society, Member of P.E.O., Bushnell Woman’s Club, and she worked in the B-PC School Library for a few years. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday June 6, 2012 at the Bushnell United Methodist Church where Pastor Trisha Chapman will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 P.M. Tuesday June 5, 2012 at the Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell, IL where friends may call after 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Bushnell Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Bushnell United Methodist Church or the Bushnell Rescue Squad.
